Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has released a draft regulation aimed at enhancing the quality of construction in the real estate sector. This initiative aligns with the provisions of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, particularly Section 14(3), which mandates prompt rectification of structural defects and other issues brought to the promoter's notice within five years of possession.

In line with this commitment, MahaRERA has introduced a comprehensive Quality Assurance Certificate, requiring promoters to report annually on four key parameters:

    A. Structural Design, Stability, and Testing

    B. Quality of Input Materials

    C. Quality of Workmanship

    D. Miscellaneous factors

This initiative aims to establish a proactive framework that ensures stringent quality standards are upheld throughout the construction process. To streamline this process, MahaRERA has proposed replacing the existing Form 2A with a more detailed and comprehensive version, Form 2A.

Therefore, MahaRERA has invited stakeholders to provide inputs and suggestions until May 23rd via suggestions.maharera@gmail.com.
